Our faculty is home to nine distinguished departments, over 200 academic staff, and more than 3,000 brilliant students. We pride ourselves on a rich history of academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and a commitment to producing engineers who lead in industry, academia, and public service.

Foundation
The Faculty of Engineering was established as one of the founding faculties of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with the mission to produce engineers for a newly independent nation.
Growth & Expansion
New departments were added, including Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and the faculty expanded its research capacity with the construction of new laboratories.
Accreditation & Recognition
The faculty received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), cementing its status as a premier engineering school.
New Departments
Departments of Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering were established to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
International Partnerships
The faculty forged collaborations with leading universities and industry giants, including MIT, Imperial College London, and Shell, enhancing research output and student exchange programs.
Recent Developments
Introduction of new programs in Biomedical Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering, establishment of the Innovation Hub, and a record number of patents and research grants.
